Meet Hannah Servis | A Birth & Postpartum Doula in Jackson, Mississippi

Hi! I’m Hannah,

a birth & postpartum doula/childbirth and lactation educator serving the Jackson, Mississippi Metro and surrounding areas.

Doula work isn’t something that I really ever considered as an option. Growing up, I had never heard of a doula or even a midwife. I thought that birth was something to fear. Something you are forced to endure to have a baby. Well, let me tell you something. After having five children of my own, I can confidently say that is the furthest thing from the truth.

Birth is so beautiful and life changing. You may think I’m crazy, but my favorite part about pregnancy is giving birth. Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard work, but the reward is so worth it! With each baby I gave birth to, I desired more and more to serve women throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey

I truly believe support during these times is crucial for every mother. As women, we need others walking beside us to reassure us, hold our hands, and mother us. And that is exactly what I do. I support, educate, and advocate for women. That looks different for every mom. Sometimes it’s holding a baby, so they can take a nap or shower. Maybe it’s helping them prepare their home for the arrival of their baby. Holding their hand during labor as I pray over them with each contraction. Whatever that mama needs at the moment is what I am there for.

Because that is the meaning of the word “Doula” - a woman who serves.

Doula work isn’t about the hip squeezes or getting to hold a newborn baby. It’s about serving the mother. Creating a safe space where she can flourish. Because when mothers are supported, families thrive.

Are you ready to thrive?
